The Indie Author Show - Calon FM
Sue Miller who presents The Indie Author Show and is the wonderful person who set up Team Author UK asked if I would be a guest on her radio programme on Calon FM. 'Sure!' I said feeling really excited about the whole thing.
The programme which is normally on for an hour every fortnight on Wednesdays at 12 noon is a light hearted yet informative radio show for those interested in independent publishing. There is also the option to 'Listen Again' if you miss out on the day and my slot was aired on Wednesday 14th February.
Sue welcomed me and I sat in a small studio bringing along with me Derek himself and a few of the space slugs I had had created for author visits to schools. Besides great music being played in between casual chat and questions in my direction, it was a lovely relaxed environment with no pressure at all. I did wonder if Sue was going to ask me something really difficult and put me on the spot! I really don't know what I thought she was going to ask . The weight of the earth? How long it takes to get back on a rocket from Mars? Clearly not. It was all author related and to be honest there were many things discussed which for a potential author listening in, would have been quite insightful and informative.
The hour which was recorded went very quickly indeed. Inside as my confidence grew, I felt I could have done another hour at least. I am not sure any listener would have wanted to have heard my dulcet tones any longer than my previously agreed 'air time' and Sue really is the one who has the beautiful magnetic voice. No. My time was up and Derek rounded up the space slugs and got himself back into my bag for the trip home. What an exciting morning I have had I thought. Oh, and before you ask, the answer is 13,170,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 pounds and about 7 months in case you wondered!
